Course Overview

My Grade

Overall I would have to give the class an

I really enjoyed the majority of this class and its lectures.  There was an abundance of interesting information that challenged you to rethink your current outlook and how your view and respond to things.

This year I am a graduating senior and I was fortunate enough to have a light work load enabling me to focus more closely on the assignments.  This in turn allowed me to more clearly gauge the information taught and determine its relevance and benefits to me.  The other advantage for me, being a senior, and having gone through the system, I have had experiences that have allowed to understand the relevance of entrepreneurship and creativity as it relates to our changing modern, technological society.  I could see where this class could be very over whelming and difficult to digest for some because on the surface the material can feel like busy work, but when you take a step back or know why this is important you can really start to see the purpose of the class, lectures and assignments.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed this class, there were a few minor criticism I have which did not enable me to give this class a perfect score.  In one or two of the lectures, I found it difficult to see the relevance of the information and how it could be useful to me.  Although I thoroughly enjoyed the class there were a few reasons I could not give this class a perfect score.  Like I was mentioning earlier that some of the lectures you have to really sit back and think about them to understand how the material is useful.  I would try and understand how I could use what I learned and apply it to my field of study or even personal life.  There were a couple of lectures that I felt were very difficult to pull the importance out of the material, however the information was informative and eye-opening.  This is more of a personal reason for why I disliked a few aspects of the class, but there was certain information that I wanted to gain from this class and those particular lectures did not align with my goals for the class.

I will go into further detail on the individual class and how they benefited me in a later post.
Another aspect that I feel that class might be lacking is the part of a lecture that goes into what comes after developing creativity.  I learned about how to think creatively and how to develop a concept into an innovation, but I do not understand what to do next after you have the idea.  I understand that for the time allotted in the semester everything can’t be covered, but I would have liked to get some information on where to start and where to look for the next step in developing an innovation.  It seems like the next steps require extensive knowledge of the business world…Where do I look?
